PRP Therapy Clinic

Vampires are all the rage so it is not surprising the latest anti-aging treatment is being dubbed the Vampire Facelift. Platelet Rich Plasma is being used to lessen the appearance of wrinkles and is raising some eyebrows (but still relaxing them) as the treatment uses your own blood. PRP enhances the natural production of main structural proteins of the various connective tissues improving the appearance of wrinkles and giving you a natural, youthful look.

The Anti-aging Effects of PRP

By promoting production of main structural proteins of the various connective tissues, PRP firms skin and reduces wrinkles. Ideal target areas include:

  • Cheeks
  • Eyes
  • Jaw line
  • Hands
  • Neck and Décolletage
  • Knees
  • Elbows
  • Upper arms
  • Post-pregnancy tummy

Process for PRP

There are many steps involved with PRP treatment. Here is an easy step-by-step overview of what to expect:

  • Candidacy: Your doctor will have to determine if you are an ideal candidate for treatment. As you can imagine there are several health factors that could affect eligibility such as cancer or chemotherapy patients, blood disorders and autoimmune deficiencies.
  • Blood Collection: Once you have been chosen as a candidate your blood will be collected for treatment. This is done as comfortable and safely as possible to ensure your blood is labelled for your use only.
  • Platelet Collection: A centrifuge is used to separate the platelet from the rest of the blood and stored for your treatment.
  • Procedure: The procedure is performed by your doctor with a series of injections to the area(s) in question. The treatment can take as long as 1-2 hours and depends on the size of the area(s) being treated.
  • Side Effects: Side effects can include bruising, swelling and redness for one to two days.
  • Results: As with all treatments results will vary. However you can expect to see results within 2 weeks and further improvements over a few months.

You can contact a medical and cosmetic centre to find out more about PRP and if you would make a good candidate.
